Portland relied on a victory from Nick Hauger in the men’s 10-kilometer race in 29 minutes, 42.4 seconds and, despite several athletes falling near the 6-kilometer mark, still managed five scorers finishing in the top 26 to repeat as men’s regional champions with a 77-82 victory over Washington.

Last season, the Pilots held off Washington by a 63-65 margin, with Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse capturing the individual title for Portland.

Lehman-Winters, who guided San Francisco to its first women’s regional championship last year, made a another big impact in her first regional meet coaching the Ducks. Oregon had five scorers in the top 20 to edge Boise State with a 44-49 triumph for its first women’s regional title since 2014.

Lehman-Winters helped San Francisco place second nationally last year, but is hoping to lead Oregon to its second team championship in three seasons at the national finals Nov. 17 in Madison, Wisc.

Boise State junior Allie Ostrander rebounded from a fourth-place finish Oct. 26 at the Mountain West Conference finals in San Diego to win her second career regional title, along with 2015, by covering the 6-kilometer layout in 19:09. Boise State had all five scorers in the top 16 to place second in the regionals for the third time in five seasons.

Jessica Hull (19:22.5) and Susan Ejore (19:24.6) finished second and third for Oregon, with Elise Cranny (19:26.2) and Fiona O’Keeffe (19:27) securing fourth and fifth for Stanford, which placed third overall with 95 points.

Washington (118) and Portland (144) rounded out the top women’s top five teams.

Boise State (102), Stanford (110) and Oregon (149) completed the men’s top five finishers.

Tanner Anderson led runner-up Washington, taking fourth in 29:44.6, helping the Huskies have five scorers in the top 30.

Aside from Hauger and Anderson, individual qualifiers highlighted the top 10 finishers.

Arizona junior Carlos Villarreal (29:43.4) took second, Loyola Marymount senior Koby Pederson (29:44.1) placed third, San Francisco senior Jack Rowe (29:45.7) finished fifth and Cal senior Garrett Corcoran (29:46.3) was sixth, part of a group of 23 athletes who ran under 30 minutes.
